Sprinkler Fitters - Cleveland, Ohio - (4/9/2024)

We have a lot of work in Cleveland now and in the months, even years to come, and are in need of Sprinkler Fitters.  Ohio is a license state for fire protection installation work.  The basic license a sprinkler fitter needs to carry is the Automatic Sprinkler and Standpipe license.  I do currently have a few open calls looking for 2 fitters at the same site, which can make traveling more reasonable.

I have included some of the documentation needed to apply to take the licensing test, and links containing information on where the test can be taken in a location near you (coming to Ohio to test is not required.)

All of this information can be found at the Ohio Department of Commerce website: com.ohio.gov  

From the home screen, click the Licensing & Registration Link, which will pull up a drop down menu

Select “Fire Protection, Fireworks & Explosive Licensing”

Scroll down and select the PDF link for “Fire Protection Individual Exam Application”

That will get you to a screen with a link to open the file for the application form (attached above), a link for payment, and a link for the “irrevocable consent to legal service” form required for non-Ohio residents.

The links to the other documents I shared above are found within the application form.

There is a fee to register ($35), and also a fee to take the test (approx. $44).  The license is then renewable annually with a fee ($40), but no required re-examination.

Additionally, to work out of Local 120 you need to carry a drug free card, the test for which we would set up at no cost to the member.
